Tangerine & Grey High River Wedding from Amara Dirks Photography
You’d never guess upon seeing this wedding that it almost did not happen. Last year, southern Alberta went through a devastating flood which I’m sure many of you heard in the media or experienced yourself. The photographer who captured the day, Amara Dirks Photography describes what happened:
“Last year, much of southern Alberta was going through some pretty devastating times as many lives were destroyed by the floods. Right smack in the middle of this, with uncertainties beyond belief, Leanne was unsure of how their day was going to unfold, if at all .. original plans were literally wiped away, and as High River was a literal ghost town and lives were in complete shambles. The Highwood Golf and Country Club was going to hopefully be ready in time for their October date. It’s not like one can send emails demanding that they get basically EVERYTHING new and ready for their wedding. I scouted the golf course the day before, and it was a quiet walk. Sod was being re-applied to huge sections of the course that were completely wiped away. Until one is standing right in the middle of a place that was in utter chaos, it is truly unexplainable the emotions that hit.”
But admist it all, everything came together to make for a beautiful wedding of two people in utter love.
