Deer of the Day, Nov. 20: Record-book 8-point
Brian Kightlinger, of Venango, Crawford County, shot his big 8-point buck on the final day of Pennsylvania archery season.
“I have been watching this deer for two years,” Kightlinger said. “Saw him twice during the season and finally closed the deal on November 14 at 4:15 p.m.”
Kightlinger, a professional scorer, green-scored his deer at 124 3/8 inches typical.
The entry period is closed for the November NWPA Outdoors Deer of the Month Contest , but public voting starts Nov. 21 at midnight. New entry periods will open Dec. 1 and again Jan. 1, all leading to February’s Deer of the Year vote.
