Black and White Vancouver Wedding at Brix Restaurant
Today’s wedding is held at one of my favourite wedding venues in Vancouver, the Brix Restaurant. Photography is by Tomasz Wagner | Mananetwork .
Says Tomasz: Izabela and Colin’s wedding was an elegant and incredibly lively occasion and the photographs I produced reflected this – from capturing the connection between Colin, Izabela, and their wedding party to the moments shared between the husband and wife-to-be, there was no shortage of laughter and opportunities to have some good, old-fashioned fun.
Says Tomasz: Being a wedding photographer, you sometimes get caught up in photographing couples in locations you’ve already been to numerous times, or in ways you’ve already tried. But the experience is always different because each couple lends their own unique and authentic personalities to their wedding day. In the case of Colin and Izabela, I was especially thankful for this. I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Colin before entering the world of wedding photography on a full time basis several years ago. Colin is an incredibly talented artist in his own right, a charismatic and ambitious fellow, and a slow-blinker (but you won’t see evidence of that here, haha). Facebook had a way of keeping us connected over the years but when an email landed in my inbox with a request to document his and Izabela’s wedding day, I couldn’t hold back my excitement; you never really can when someone who helped propel your ambition as an artist/person, asks you to become part of one of the most important days of his life. Enter Izabela. I hadn’t met Izabela before but had heard a lot about her and the one thing that probably resonated with me most was our shared Polish roots. If you know me personally, you’ll quickly realize I can never pass up the opportunity to speak Polish, or to speak with Polish people (in English or Polish). Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with it, especially while photographing Izabela’s family after the ceremony at the Brix Restaurant. The Polish came in handy!
