Purple St. George Wedding from Martina Wendland Photography
Held on a private residence near St. George, Ontario (near Cambridge), today’s featured wedding was truly a huge labour of love from family and friends to make it happen. Unbelievably, a tornado touched down on the property a month prior to the wedding along with a large storm, so it took everyone’s help to prepare it for Michelle and Steve’s wedding day. Captured by Martina Wendland , the wedding was filled with sweet DIY elements and in a theme of purple, the bride’s favourite colour. Steve and Michelle actually met at a wedding, so you can say their journey finally came full circle!
What was the inspiration behind your wedding decor/colours?
I wanted our wedding to include all of natures beauty with a formal and romantic feel. I have always been obsessed with the colour purple so choosing purple and grey was an easy choice. To incorporate the romantic feel I added a lot candles and rose petals.
Any favourite wedding moments?
Thinking back on our wedding day I can remember feeling very emotionally charged. You plan for so long and to having everything and everyone come together was a great experience. I could finally relax and realize that it doesn’t matter if everything goes perfectly it is the people that surrounded us that day that really made the experience perfect.
Any advice for future brides/grooms-to-be?
My advice to other bride and grooms is to not sweat the small stuff! You can plan all you want just count on something not going perfectly, it will not affect your day all! I can also say, get ready for other peoples opinions and suggestions that you may not want to hear.Be polite and just let them know you already have it sorted out……even if you don’t ;)
