Today’s couple, Stephanie + Kevin were inspired by their unique wedding venue, the Vancouver Rowing Club, fittingly choosing a nautical inspired wedding. A navy & white striped pattern was used throughout with pops of pink, making the entire wedding fresh, chic and so lovely. A big thanks to Cat Watson Photography who captured the day and Jordan Maxey of Smitten Events (formerly Fairy Godmother Weddings) who planned this beautiful wedding.

Says Cat: The wedding was really classically beautiful, it fit the location perfectly. Details such as the navy and white striped table runners, the twine holding the silverware together, and the navy sunglasses given to guests as gifts just pulled it all together really nicely. My favorite moment of the day was when the groom’s little niece followed them to the dance floor as they began their first dance, and just waited until they noticed she was there and wanting to dance with them.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding decor / colours?
We got married in a rowing club on the ocean in Vancouver so really, those two things were our biggest inspiration for the decor and colors.

What were some of your memorable moments?

I have so many memorable moments from our wedding day but the one memory that sticks out the most is when Kevin and I were having our first dance and our 2 nieces came and joined in the dance with us. So all 4 of us had a first dance! I will cherish that memory forever.

Any advice for future brides/grooms-to-be?

The one thing I wish I did was bring a party dress with me to the reception. As much as you never want to take your dress off and just wear it forever, it gets super uncomfortable as the night goes on. Plus when you take your heels off it gets long and I ended up stepping on mine all night until I found some ribbon and made a makeshift belt. So my advice is bring a little party dress! Just in case.
