Halloween Inspired Photoshoot

Rebecca from High Culture: Wedding & Special Events Inc. is joining us again to share another photoshoot, a homage to this Halloween weekend. I know how many brides choose to have their weddings on this scariest day of the year and sometimes it’s really hard to create decor that doesn’t scream “cheesy!” Luckily, you’ll get some fantastic ideas from this photoshoot!

Says Rebecca:

Who said that Halloween had to be eerie? With Halloween just around the corner, many people are planning the perfect Halloween party, but what about a Halloween inspired wedding? There is a huge variety of themes that can influence the design of a wedding or other special event. In the past, I have heard of weddings being literally inspired by Halloween in the sense that they become costume parties but instead, I became inspired by the colours that are associated with this annual event. While the inspiration comes from Halloween, I wanted to express that this event can be elegant, classy, and sophisticated while still maintaining some elements of ‘Halloween’.

Below are some stunning photos that brilliantly capture the grace and beauty of Halloween.

I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Ryan Kelly of Ryan + Beth Photographers
in the past and I truly hope for many more of these occasions! This lovely husband and wife pair have a very clean and crisp style to their art. While the photos from this shoot still capture their approach and keep the images fresh and lighthearted, Ryan was able to capture a balance of light and dark which I think captivates the overall concept of my design. Ryan’s intern Dylan joined us as well and it was really interesting to see a seasoned professional and a new, passionate photographer work together.

Sometimes, to begin your d茅cor design, it can be very inspirational to look at what you already have at home… or in this case, visiting my boyfriend’s mother! She has a little love for Halloween and fabulous taste – she is quite the interior decorator. I raided her house (with permission!) and lucked out with some great finds for this shoot – thank you!

Elegant Touches has absolutely fabulous d茅cor items. Katherine, President of Elegant Touches, has impeccable taste and offers her clients some of the most luxurious linens. The pewter and black sequin overlay on the tablescape is beautiful and I think that this linen alone portrays elegance. Elegant Touches also offers black feather balls and feather boas that add a hint of fun into the design.

The sweetscape was once again beautiful and delicious. Gloria, co-owner and cake designer of The Art of Cake did an absolutely fabulous job on all of the Halloween inspired sweets. The cake is stunning – I’ve never thought that a spider looked so beautiful! Gloria is incredibly talented and her creativity shows through each delightful piece that she creates. The small sweets were designed perfectly for the overall concept of this design because Gloria combined classy with spooky. We had chic truffles and Halloween inspired items including white chocolate mummies.
