Toronto Engagement Story Winner
Two weeks ago we asked Toronto and area brides to submit their engagement stories in the hopes of winning a 1-2 hour engagement session captured by the ever-talented Jeffrey of I Cherish You Photography , complete with vintage-inspired decor props by Stacked Events .
Well, we spent the weekend going over the entries and while we thank all who entered, there was definitely one story that stood out enough for us to announce the winner right away. The engagement is clever, creative and just so cute.
Meet Jenna and Peter and their sweet story:
After spending my Saturday at the office, we went for a casual dinner before coming home. At home, I changed into pajamas and anticipated a night in at the movies. He asked me to go downstairs to the basement to see something “cool”. We don’t usually go down there, so I was a little hesitant at first. He didn’t turn the lights on and made me stand on one side of the room. On the other side of the room he had placed several pieces of board that he had painted with glow in the dark paint (which just looks grey initially). He handed me a purple laser and told me to point it at the boards. To my surprise, wherever you pointed the laser, it glowed. We were both scribbling and drawing for a while, and I drew a ring (just for fun). He then wrote “do you want to see the real thing?” I ignored him for a moment because I thought he was joking … until he took out another board and colored it in with the laser – it said “will you marry me”. He then got down on one knee and showed me my ring in a box that had a light in it (since we were in the dark). I said yes, and we stayed in the dark basement and drew some more. And that’s our story :) Simple, but I thought it was worth sharing.
