Checking In – 9 Months To Go
Oh boy. I would like to say that I have gotten more done since the last time I compared my wedding planning progress, but I’m not so sure. Work, life, and well, more work, have really gotten in the way of things. Let’s see how I’m doing in comparison to this planning timeline from Digby Rose .
Alert out-of-town guests of wedding date by sending out save-the-date cards.
Not yet. Umm… Our save-the-dates have been printed and sitting safely on my desk just waiting to be mailed out for a few weeks months. Oops.
Find a bridal salon and begin trying on wedding dresses and veils.
Not yet. I still haven’t tried on a wedding gown. But, I finally have an appointment booked for October 3.
Get in shape for your wedding gown by starting an exercise routine.
Check. Not exactly sure you can call it a “routine” but I’ve been trying to get to the gym at least twice a week. I’ll have to step my game up now that it’s getting colder and I’ve started to inhale all the comfort food I can find.
Get ideas for honeymoon locations and research pricing.
Still planning on California. We’ll start booking things soon.
Start looking at floral designs and interview florists for style and cost.
My Pinterest is full of ideas. I’m going to meet with a florist soon.
Search menu ideas and start meeting with caterers.
No need to find a caterer, the venue will handle the food. Just a matter of picking from their menu options. (Or, as I’m hoping, twisting their arm in to some more fun off-the-menu options.)
Research wedding photography and interview wedding photographers and videographers.
Check. Done and done. Booked and booked .
Get ideas for music and interview bands or DJs.
All set. DJ is booked . A friend of ours will play his accoustic guitar for the ceremony. All songs are picked except for our entrance to the reception.
Finalize flower and decor ideas, and select a florist.
We’ll get there.
Sign a caterer.
Unneccessary. Although, we do need to go and meet with the bakery I would like for our cake.
Order your gown and wedding veil.
Soon enough.
Shop for and select the perfect bridesmaid dress.
We’ll start looking for bridesmaids dresses next month… maybe. (I seem to be quite the procrastinator about the wardrobe.)
Book your honeymoon.
Soon, soon!
Find out if your ceremony location requires liability insurance.
Not neccessary.
Finalize contracts with your wedding photographers and videographers.
Done.
Book your DJ or band.
All done.
Browse and purchase wedding dress accessories, shoes, lingerie, purse and gloves.
If pinning loads of glittery shoes counts as browsing, then yes. I’m all over it.
Choose your officiant and discuss ceremony ideas.
Officiant is next on our radar. I’ve got some ideas for vows already.
Start thinking about all of your gift registry options.
Way ahead of you.
Select three hotels in varying price ranges and reserve rooms for out-of-town guests.
Three? *Gulp* The area around our venue is kind of limited. It’s either waterfront hotel or cheapy motels.
So not too bad. Nothing I’m going to get really panicky about. We’re taking our engagement photos this Wednesday so that’ll be lots of fun.
What are you putting off dealing with for your own wedding?
