A Personal Update – I need your advice!
Colors colors colors.
So this is what I’ve been thinking about these past couple weeks. Actually, this has been ongoing for the past couple months! My bridesmaid Manda and I visited our venue today along with some trusty paint swatches. Why? Well, the venue’s chairs make their own strong statement and we aren’t allowed to use chair covers. Now, while I would normally want to find another venue, I really wanted to keep this particular one the food is amazing, the room is warm/intimate and the view is to die for.
Case in point, check out the room below. (sorry for the poor quality images!)
My initial colors that I wanted were green, white and black. But as you can see, these colors may be a bit too contemporary for the room, so I’ve tried using different color schemes. Now, while red and orange aren’t necessarily my favorite colors, I’ve contemplated using either color as an accent for the decore. The mohogany in the chairs looks almost black when you walk in to the room.
I’ve already committed myself to centerpieces of white hydrangeas and green hypericum berries. The white is neutral next to the chairs and the room and the green matches the colors in the chairs. As well, I’m considering adding some flowers of the first color (orangy-red) in a smaller vase to complement the larger centerpiece and adding a bit of ‘punch’ to the table.
There was some concern with the room being too bare with white table cloths, so I am considering sandlewood (the second color from the left) which should warm up the venue even more. It would be a nice complement to both the chairs and the centerpiece. The green and white would go with the sandlewood table cloths like the picture below. I would also be using sage green napkins.
What are your thoughts? Sandlewood OR white tablecloths? Or any other suggestions?
