Says Amanda (photographer): I love the unique feel of a lot of small town weddings and this one was no different. As a born and raised Edmontonian I’ve kind of always felt attached to prairie towns and how we do actually have a unique landscape here. I think this wedding captured that very well with the long prairie grass, the mountains off in the background, an old green barn in the middle of nowhere and a pair of rubber boots given to the bride by her groom on their wedding day.

Decor inspiration:

My husband and I are very much into modern decor and originally were going very a very modern clean look until I started coming across all the rustic wedding inspiration. We live moments from the mountains and couldn’t ignore all the beautiful inspiration we had sitting outside our door. I stemmed a lot of my ideas from DIY blogs and made everything to suit us and our love for the outdoors. In the end I think the modern and rustic feel we had combined beautifully and it was such a good feeling to see it all come together.

Favorite moment on your wedding day:

Seeing my groom waiting for me at the end of the isle. We’ve lived together for a while and have a son together and he still takes my breath away. He, the groomsmen and family had to set up the entire ceremony site the wedding morning so I never got to see it all come together until the moment I walked into the field. Getting to see the gorgeous mountain landscape, all the decorations, friends and family who I hold dear to my heart while walking with my son and Dad up to the most amazing man is definitely a a moment I’ll never forget.
