Romantic Knollwood Country Club WeddingFor Scottish brides it is tradition that the bride carry a horseshoe in her wedding bouquet for goodluck. My great-grandmother had a door knocker of a horseshoe inscripted “Here’s Luck” that she brought with her to Canada when she immigrated, and it was on her door until her passing. I have vivid memories of asking my Grandmother to pick me up so I could knock it when we visited, until I was tall enough to reach it on my own. I thought it was the perfect way to incorporate both the memory of my Granny and our culture into our wedding day.” “If our wedding had a theme I would say it was Old World Romance. My dress and veil were classic and romantic. The men were stylish in dark grey tuxedos with ink navy accents. The bridesmaids were gorgeous in their romantic and flowy – but still sexy ink navy gowns. The decor was exquisitely executed by Ryan Longo of RL Designs Inc. who created a luxurious and romantic feel in the venue with cream coloured hydrangeas, roses, floating candles and amazing centerpieces – describing it doesn’t do his work justice. The rolling hills of the golf course were the most incredible back drop.” “To give our wedding a touch of old world elegance we had a 1931 Ford Model B at the reception that was restored by my father in law. It was also the same colour as the bridesmaid’s dressed.
