March buck steelhead on the fly

This colorful buck steelhead fell for an egg pattern while I was fishing the East Branch of Conneaut Creek earlier in March. Egg patterns are popular among fly anglers when fishing for steelhead. Other patterns like San Juan worms, Lefty’s Deceiver streamers, and Prince nymph imitations will also work.
