Jamestown Audubon Snowflake Festival is Saturday
Jamestown Audubon Society’s Snowflake Festival is scheduled for Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the society grounds, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, NY .
The tentative schedule:
- 10:30 a.m., noon, 2 p.m.: Hike with a Naturalist – Explore the grounds with a guide and see what is happening in the winter world.
- 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m.: Wild Spirit education – live birds of prey.
- Noon–4 p.m.: Horse-drawn sleigh rides.
- Noon, 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m.: Kicksled demonstrations outdoors by Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue.
- 2:30 pm: Snowy owls – Learn more about these recent visitors to the region.
There also will be free snowshoe and cross country skiing demonstrations throughout the day; bird nest box and suet feeder building ($5); kids’ crafts and painting; door prizes and raffles; food and drinks; and vendors.
Entry fee is $6 for those age 13 and older; $2 for children 3-12; and free for children 2 and under.
