Fun Bradford Engagement Session from Photography by Sarah Sharpe Photography
Sarah Sharpe Photography shares Jason and Jessica’s engagement session held in their home and Bradford Fire Station where Jason is on duty. They had a bit of fun having Jessica throw on some of his gear. Super fun session!
How did you two meet?
We actually met when we were children, we went to the same school and lived in the same area and knew the same people. However, Jason was my older protective brother’s David best friend. With that being said, we never developed a relationship or a friendship growing up. Mind you, we saw each other at parties my brother hosted and at baseball games that both Jason and David played on.
Skip a few years down the road, Jason and I met again in Mexico at David’s wedding. And for me it was love at first sight! Jason would argue it was long before Mexico.. but who knows. Well as it goes, we went on with the wedding and during that week there would be a little chat here and a little smile there, and we developed an innocent crush. Yet, when we came home life went back to normal as most vacation crushes end. We went on with our lives for a few months, but then lucky me started receiving text messages from Jason asking about my favorite past-time ‘fitness’. Before we knew it, it was long phone calls and plans being made… and the rest is history, we dated, we traveled, we fell in love, and got engaged!
Tell us about your proposal:
It’s started off the day before the proposal, Jason came to visit me at my parents house, it was a Friday night and I was on another fitness kick (for those who know me happens all the time ha-ha). So I mention to Jason we should go for a walk, get a coffee and chat about our new exercise plans; what I didn’t mention was I picked the furthest coffee shop from the house, ops..10 km later!
Now, back at the house we talked about tomorrows plans to go to Blue Mountain, which Jason had planned. He had the full day off and the weather was perfect for a mountain hike. Early that next morning we jumped in the car and zoomed our way up to Blue Mountain.
Once we made it up to the mountain Jason pulls out a Polaroid camera, and asked me to take pictures of the day so we can have a keepsake forever. We finally got to the top of the mountain and started our journey down, along side a beautiful stream of water and large overhanging trees. As we made our way down the mountain there were so many moment where I thought he was going to propose, but he didn’t, thus in my mind I thought it wasn’t going to happen.
Once we completed the mountain we were exhausted and all I wanted to do was sit down, but Jason had different plans. He stood there, looking at me and told me how much he loved me, got on one knee and PROPOSED! We celebrated our amazing day together over sushi and ice cream!
