Early-Season Kayak Clinics

As the snow starts to melt, the rivers rise, and we get spring paddling at its finest. To take advantage of the season, we run several clinics for intermediate to advanced boaters. The Spring Fling (April 16th and 17th) is an annual river run during the spring runoff. We’ll travel out to one of the lesser-known whitewater gems, such as the Ashuelot, Millers, Westfield or North Rivers.

If you’re looking for more challenge, we offer the “ Steep Creekin’” Clinic on April 9th and 10th. This advanced river run offers more instruction than other river runs and focuses on developing the skills and techniques you’ll need for more difficult water. This clinic is open to advanced paddlers only, and teaches the specific techniques of boofing, catching micro-eddies, and reading steep rapids on the fly. This clinic will help you enjoy some of New England’s best hidden whitewater and is taught by top river runners.

If you’d like to become a paddling instructor, we’re offering American Canoe Association (ACA) certification courses this season. These workshops are designed for kayakers and canoeists who want to teach flatwater, moving water, or whitewater kayaking or canoeing.
