What America’s Great Outdoors Act 2010 would mean for you
The America’s Great Outdoors Act 2010 , introduced in Congress this past weekend, has far-recahing implications for every area of the country and anyone who has an interest in the outdoors, conservation and history.
The act calls for new and expanded National Park System properties, including Gettysburg National Military Park; place nearly 300,000 acres in the West under wilderness preservation guidelines; mandate contributions to water projects; and task the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service with a string of programs, among other matters.
American Rivers and The Wilderness Society are for the legislation, naturally. See if there’s a provision that catches your attention.
