Get your Pennsylvania Boating Safety Certificate
The Erie Power Squadron will help boaters earn their Pennsylvania Boating Safety Certificates with an eight-week America’s Boating Course program starting March 5 at the Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies.
Registration starts at 6:30 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m. The course will take place Mondays from 7-9 p.m.
Instruction is free, but there is a $50 fee for books, materials and shipping and handling.
The course is mandatory for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1982, who wishes to operate a vessel with 25 or more horsepower or for anyone who will operate a personal watercraft. The certificate may lead to as much as 10 percent savings on boat insurance.
