Natural, Rustic Wedding at the Silvertip Resort
Britney & Josh wanted a natural, rustic feel to their wedding to complement a scenic mountain backdrop. Held at the Silvertip Resort (one of our featured vendors!) in Canmore, Alberta they kept things simple, yet classic with the wedding aisle lined in silver pails of baby’s breath and wood pieces holding lantern centerpieces. How did you two meet?
We met during the Calgary Stampede in 2005. He was the cute bartender and I made sure to go to him for my drinks, even though his lines were the longest. After a bit of liquid courage, I handed him my phone and said he should put his number in!
What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?
Since our wedding was in the mountains we wanted a natural yet rustic feel.
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
It was such a fabulous day, so it’s hard to pick just one moment! However, one thing that will always put a huge smile on my face when thinking back is the song that my husband’s family sang to us. It was to Bruno Mars’ “Marry You” and they changed the lyrics to look back on our relationship. It was the perfect way to start the party!
Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be?
Just relax and enjoy the day. Like everyone says, the day goes by so quickly, so take a moment to take everything in. And if you’re running a bit late on the day of, don’t worry – the wedding will not start without you!
