Natural, Rustic Wedding at Black Creek Pioneer Village from Celine Kim Photography
I’m capping off the week with yet another beautiful wedding. Everyone knows someone who is looks effortlessly styled. They roll out of bed and they look awesome. Today’s wedding would be a version of that. Inspired by their venue, Melissa & Egan’s wedding is simple, yet elegant in a carefree, naturalistic way. What they achieved was a rustic inspired wedding that is just utterly pretty. Photography is by Celine Kim Photography .
Says the bride: The wedding theme and colour palette were inspired by the venue. As soon as we saw the Pavilion at Black Creek Pioneer Village, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The place reminded us of something from an old county fair, so a rustic, relaxed theme arose out of that. Adding any more colour than a hint of pale pink would have overwhelmed the natural beauty of the location.
Says the bride: The day couldn’t have been more perfect. The forecast was calling for rain, but in the end we only got a bit of a drizzle during the reception (when everyone was safe and dry under the Pavilion). It was a beautiful late summer day, nice and warm, and the venue was just far enough out of the downtown core to be peaceful and quiet, with trees everywhere (which were just starting to change colour).
We arrived on site in the afternoon, before the reception, for wedding party photos. Our photographer Celine and her assistant were both amazing, making us feel super relaxed. Later we exchanged vows in a small stone church, in front of our family and friends, then proceeded to the Pavilion for our reception. After months and months of planning every last detail, it was so satisfying to see it all come together, and to see our guests relaxing, having fun and enjoying themselves, the food, the music, etc. Not that it all came off without a hitch — mid-way through the night the fire alarm went off in the Pavilion and there was a bit of scrambling as the venue staff and caterers tried to make it stop — but as the sun went down and the strings of lights came on, and we could see the stars in the summer sky, we knew it was worth all the hard work we put in over the past year to make this one day single so special.
