Today marks the first Fish For Free Day in Pennsylvania for 2015. Anglers who take advantage of this oppurtunity can find spectacular fishing along the Lake Erie shoreline. Anglers who fish the main lake, Presque Isle, and even the Lake Erie tributaries can have a lot of fun. Largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, trout, perch, crappie, pike, catfish, and even a few steelhead are being caught in these areas. Action can last all day and into the night. Fishing the waters along the shoreline can provide anglers with a memorable time on the water. Lake Erie allows anglers in Pennsylvania a unique oppurtunity to fish in one of the largest bodies of water in the world. It just so happens that these waters also provide some of the most outstanding fishing in the world.

The first Fish For Free Day this year will be held on Sunday, May 24. The next Fish For Free Day will be on July 4. Fish for Free Days allow anglers who fish Pennsylvania waters the chance to see what they have been missing. The cost of a Pennsylvania fishing license was lowered this year for the first time in history. The cost of an annual Pennsylvania fishing license is now $21.70 for residents and $51.70 for non-residents. There is an additional $9.70 cost of for the Lake Erie Permit and $9.70 for a Trout/Salmon Permit. You can purchase a Combination Trout/Salmon Lake Erie Permit for $15.70 and save $3.70.
