Bride Blogger Update: Showered with Love

Bride Blogger Lauren is just days away from her wedding weekend! It is hard to believe that it is almost here – but before we get ahead of ourselves, today she tells us all about her shower!

I have been told that there are a few events in your life that you will remember and look back at fondly; the day you said “yes” when your boyfriend popped the big question, your wedding day and the birth of your first child. I believe it, and will go ahead and add my bridal shower to that list as well. It is a very humbling and inspiring experience being surrounded by some of the most favorite women in your life. As the year goes by and the wedding day approaches I continue to feel more and more blessed.It truly was the most perfect day and for all of the other brides-to-be that haven’t had their shower yet, it is a very good practice run for what I assume the wedding day will feel like—simply just not enough time.

My parents, Nana and bridesmaids thought of everything. From the full Italian spread that had everyone asking for recipes, to the gorgeous decorations and adorable party favors that my future mother-in-law gifted, every detail was thought through with such love.  One of the most moving moments was receiving a present that my grandma gave me- a gold necklace with diamond pedant that was one of the first gifts that my beloved grandpa gave to her after they got married. It means the world to me and I will treasure it for the rest of my life.

We are now just days out and I cannot believe how quickly the past year has flown by. It is an understatement to say that we are running out of room in our condo for all of the boxes that have arrived, but hey, I’m not complaining- I’ve always wanted a KitchenAid Mixer. Now, like my fiance didn’t hesitate to point out; I just have to learn how to use it!
