Once you are a bride, you have a totally different perspective on weddings.  You start to notice each and every little detail, knowing what a labor of love planning such a monumental celebration can be.  Today, Marybeth tells us about her take-aways from her sister-in-law’s big day!

The last weekend before our move, James and I had the honor of being in his sister’s wedding.  We were excited to celebrate Brittany and Dan’s marriage, and see many family and friends one more time before the big move.  Both Brittany and her mom have amazing taste, pay impeccable attention to detail and really know how to throw a party.

With those factors in play, I knew the wedding would be beautiful and an event to remember.  Brittany and Dan’s wedding did not disappoint.  I heard many guests say it was not only the best wedding they had been to, but also the best night they experienced all year!

Below are a few of the stunning pictures, and some of  my favorite highlights:

  • Tie the Knot –From the save the date, to the wedding party gifts, the tie the knot theme was present.  No gifts or ribbons were tied with bows, all used a simple knot.  It was a small, but thoughtful detail.
  • Wedding Party Gifts – The quickest way to win me over is with jewelry, which is exactly what Brittany presented to her bridesmaids.  Her two maids of honor also received amazing matching bracelets.  But, the most unique gifts were to the groomsman.  Each one of Dan’s guys received custom Nike ID sneakers in Ravens purple with their nicknames stitched on the back. These sneakers came in handy with all the dancing.

  • Dance, Dance, Dance – I don’t think I sat down for more than 10 minutes that night!  I am not usually one to hit the dance floor, but Brittany, a dance instructor, made sure everyone was ready to boogie.  Leading up to the wedding she warned us all we would need to have our dancing shoes on and she wasn’t kidding!  The dancing started with the wedding party’s choreographed entrance, which culminated in a soul train line.  The dance floor was packed through the end of the night with everyone from grandparents to friends and cousins making appearances.  The next day a friend pointed out the DJ didn’t play any slow songs, which may not work for weddings with a big older crowd, but for Brittany and Dan’s guests it was a hit.

  • Photographer – Brittany and Dan’s photographer really utilized the beautiful venue to get some great shots.  From the women’s bathroom to the boardroom and an alley way, she got amazing shots, but also did it in record time.

There were so many other amazing details, but I will let the pictures speak for themselves.  Enjoy!
