It’s been awhile, I know

So the past month has been a good one, but nothing too exciting. Tally finally got better, thank God, and so did Zeke, so the puppy trauma is over….now on to the chewing-everything-and-digging-holes trauma….oy yoy yoy

Last weekend my family and I all went down to Durango for Amy’s wedding, and it turned out to be really fun. I was pretty nervous cause we did all the flowers, including the bouquets, and I had to do her hair (thanks to my generous sister for volunteering me!) but it all turned out well in the end. Amy looked beautiful, and her and Jason seem very happy. There were actually a lot of people I knew from high school at the wedding, so in a way, it was like a mini-reunion!

So, since Halloween is coming and yesterday was, after all, Friday the 13th, a few of us decided to go to the Terror in the Corn up in Erie. Of course, I knew this would be a lot for me to handle, but it is pretty much the only time of the year where I am willing to go out of my way to scare myself, so why not go all out….it was scary! They had these men running around with chain saws that freaked me out, and the five of us pretty much ended up immobilized in the corner, either too scared to move or stuck behind those of us who weren’t budging. Definitely fun, definitely terrifying!

After the haunted maze, Angel and I decided to head into Boulder for a drink or two, cause of course, what a great idea…..started off fine until my car key broke off into the lock on my door, leaving us locked out of the car, with the headlights running and Angel’s purse inside….and me holding both halves to the key, not quite knowing what to do. We called everyone we knew, hoping someone would be around in Boulder to take us to my house so I could get the spare key, but of course, Friday night, no one answers their damn phone! So, we decided to wait for someone to call us back and headed over to Pearl Street to get out of the cold (cause, logically, my coat is now locked inside the car) Well, even better now is that we actually can’t get in anywhere on Pearl because Angel’s has no ID–locked in the car–and everything is a bar that cards at the door. Super sweet, right? Long story short, we went to Hapa, a sushi restaurant, ran into a friend that worked there, and chowed down on some good sushi. Angel’s brother came and saved us–thank you Matthew!!!—and we ended up spending like an hour and a half driving back and forth between Broomfield and Boulder to work the car situation out…what a pain in the ass!!!! 🙂
