My poor puppy
So, this week has been rough on my poor puppy! She started hacking and coughing and honking this weekend, right after I took her to the vet, and it turns out that she has kennel cough. I kept calling the Dumb Friends League because the cover the medical expenses in the puppiesn if it happens within 15 days of adoption, but it was seriously a joke. They told me to give her Robitussin cough syrup, which I did every day, even though Tally hates it and spit it all over me ever single time, but it never did any good. And then, her cough got so bad that she was coughing up mucous and so I called them back and they could barely squeeze me for an appointment, so we said screw it, we will pay for the appointment at a real vet (actually, my parents did, so thanks!) and took her in yesterday. Turns out, the infection has spread to her lungs, and in puppies, it can be serious, and can sometimes turn into pneumonia and kill them. Of course, I’ve been all upset and wicked concerned about my puppy ever since. I really really hope these antibiotics work. So far, the cough suppressants seem to do the trick and the spit up has minimized, so we will see. I just feel so bad for her cause she is so sweet and so smart and wants to be a part of the family so bad, and she can only lay around and be miserable. My poor Tally. Anyway, enough type… I am going to cuddle with my baby
