We`re in Uruguay!

So, we did go to Buenos Aires again, but not everything worked out as planned. We went to the Brazilian embassy, but they apparently will not give you visa unless you have a plane ticket in and out of the country…and since we were planning on bussing it in from Uruguay, we don`t have these. We looked into flights and all that so that we could get the visa so that we could get into the country, but it was just getting way too expensive.(I forgot to mention that they also charge you money down here when you fly out of a country to another country…a departure tax, in addition to other reciprocal fees) Long story short, it was going to cost us about $500 just to get into the country, and then we were going to have to wait another week in Buenos Aires to get the visa, so we just said screw it and scrapped Brazil from the plan. Kinda a bummer, but I know I am going to come back, so not that big of a deal!

So anyway, we did get our Paraguayan visa, and it looks like that will be our next country to visit. We took the boat from Buenos Aires to a town called Colonia de Sacramento in Uruguay, and spent the last few days there. It is such a beautiful town! All cobblestone streets and old buildings with flowering trees and greenery everywhere…definitely relaxing. We arrived in Montevideo, the capital, a few hours ago, and are going to spend a few days here before moving further east up the coast. Hopefully, the weather will get warm and we can get some quality beach time in!
