It`s been awhile…

So, after we left San Martin de los Andes, we went to Pucon in Chile, expecting it to be like Bariloche, but it wasn`t. It is more of a smaller town, with one main street and a lot of locals hanging out. Anyway, we did climb the Villarica Volcano, and it was quite the experience….in a weird way. We asked around, and it turns out that you can`t climb the volcano on your own unless you have an international alpinist card, so we got stuck going with a tour group (just a scam to make money, if you ask me!) It was ridiculous! There were about 15 of us, plus guides, and we had to go at a serious snail`s pace to get up this damn volcano….not to mention we went with some stupid people that didn`t know to bring a backpack, as well as OOPS, didn`t bring any water…honestly. Either way, the climb was cool, and the crater at the top was pretty sweet. It was emitting all this gas though, so we didn`t spend a whole lot of time at the summit cause it smelled!

After the volcano, our guides invited us over to their house for a parilla, a Chilean BBQ. It was pretty cool to hang out with local people and check out where they lived and stuff….we found out the guy that lived there pays $300 a month in rent though, so shows how Chile is NOT cheap!

There is also a row of hot springs outside of Pucon, so we went there the other night and hung out in them for awhile…I thought it was really relaxing, but Steve was bored and hot and wanted to get out within 5 minutes…BIG BABY!

So, we are back in Argentina again, and are catching a bus to Buenos Aires tonight. Yes, I know, we have already been there, but we have to spend another few days there so we can get both our Brazilian and Paraguayan visas so we are allowed in the countries! After we get those–which should only take a few days–we are headed up to Uruguay and then Brazil….should be fun!
