Rustic DIY Wedding
It’s always nice to change pace and what better way then to share a rustic and do-it-yourself wedding? The fabulous Sheri from Capture It! Photography got to follow Jillion and Keith on their special day held at the Snow Valley Ski Hill this past Thanksgiving weekend. Jillion and Keith are a simple couple that wanted a ‘natural, relaxed, rustic, and pretty wedding‘ that was filled with loads of DIY projects thanks to the help of their parents and friends.
Says Sheri:
“Keith and Jilion are two of the kindest and most generous people I know. Their wedding was a destination wedding for nearly every guest (even Keith and Jilion do not live in Edmonton), yet Keith, Jilion and their families made everyone feel at home! They were the first couple that I’ve had the pleasure of photographing that hired a limosine to transport guests to and from the ceremony as well as the reception… including the photographers!Jilion and her mom, as well as their team of helpers transformed the Snow Valley Reception room into a rustic dream with some modern touches.
It was a perfect day and I’m extremely thankful that I was able to witness and document their love and commitment for each other!

“The centerpieces were made from fence posts that were cut down from the couples acerage. Jilion’s mom wood burned the writing onto the posts with a personalized k + J. The family tables centerpieces were personalized with the couples parents initials. Jilion’s dad hung mason jars with flameless votives from the ceiling. Lot’s of DIY touches that all of their guests will never forget!”
