Held on a gorgeous private residence, today’s wedding catered by Joey Restaurants is just about as care-free as you can get it. How often do you get to see kids jumping in the pool at a reception and a bride & groom jumping on a trampoline? The lovely photos are by Simply Rose Photography .

Any memorable moments from your wedding day?

The whole day was so much fun. From getting ready with the girls, to the ceremony, to the dancing (and food and drink). I loved looking around and taking it all in – seeing everyone having fun. I don’t think I’ll ever forget my dad’s reaction when he first saw me as we got ready to walk down the isle. I think he thought he was looking at my late mother as he got teary and told me I looked beautiful and at that moment I knew she was with us on the day.

What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?

Summer, love and fun! I picked bright peacock inspired tones (with a bit of pink for fun). I had no specific guidelines – just tones that contrasted and complimented each other in a way that popped. I was definitely not your typical stressed out bride obsessing about details. I hate matching bridesmaids dresses so I just gave each bridesmaid a tone for their dress and the guideline that it not be floor length or too formal (as it was a garden wedding). My plan for the flowers was to just wing-it with whatever we could find at the shops that week with pinks, purples and whites. And for the centerpieces my sister (maid-of-honor) and I made some painted mason jar tealite holders that we saw on Pinterest – again to fit with the low-maintenance atmosphere that I insisted for my wedding.

Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be?

Don’t stress about the little things or you won’t enjoy your own day. My philosophy was that as long as there was someone there to marry us, plus some food and drinks, that it would be a great day.
