Beautiful Casa Loma Wedding from Ashley Lindzon Events
After a fantastic week of stationery features, I’m sure you’re all aching for some real weddings. And today, we’ve got a pretty wedding captured by Tristan KC that’s all about the sparkle. Coordinated by Ashley Lindzon Events , Julia and Marc celebrated their special day with their loved ones in an orange, gold and crystal themed wedding held at the landmark Casa Loma, a Gothic Revival style house in midtown Toronto. I especially love the laser cut escort cards displayed in front of the modern glass structure and the breathtaking reception decor. Enjoy!
The wedding ceremony took place in a light-filled conservatory. In fact, on the rehearsal before their wedding day, there was a massive storm and flood in Toronto resulting in only a third of the people being able to make it. Says the bride: “It was horrible. Even those that made it ended up having to leave early. Jitters calmed? Not at all! The weather was hot and sticky for the days that followed but miraculously, it all cleared by Thursday and by that weekend, it was PERFECT. No humidity and the perfect temperature to be out on the terrace and enjoying the cigars we gave out to our guests. It was the nicest weekend in Toronto up to that point (I swear, I’m not being biased!). As for everyone else and their assigned “duties” for the day? They all did a bang up job… and if they didn’t, I didn’t notice!”
Any memorable moments from your wedding day?
Memorable moments? The whole day was memorable! From beginning to end! But I have to say, the memory that stands out was our first dance on the terrace. Marc was so nervous about that dance because we only started learning the choreography a month before the wedding day. (So he has 2 left feet… lol) But we pulled it off flawlessly in front of all our family and friends.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding decor & colors?
I really wanted something different than the typical banquet hall and was lucky enough to secure Casa Loma for our wedding day. As majestic and beautiful Casa Loma is, the library provides for a very dark back drop with all the wood panelling. I wanted a punch of colour that would compliment the decor and feel for the place and orange happens to be one of my favourite colours. Gold was an obvious compliment colour to pick and to add more sparkle, I had to ensure there was some bling with crystals! :D With Casa Loma as a back drop, there wasn’t too much decor to worry about. I did want to add some height by having taller centerpieces and went with gold manzanita branches and Ashley was amazing and found the great chandelier back drop for the head table. I loved it. A classy and elegant affair was what I was hoping to achieve. Did you see the invites? I made those!! Do you know how hard it is to find classy gold and orange colour scheme stationary??? It’s IMPOSSIBLE! I guess that just means I did go for something different!
Says Ashley: The color scheme for the wedding was gold, orange and crystal (or as Julia would say, bling!). The laser cut escort cards were displayed in front of a glass structure created by the bride’s father. In the library, guests were wowed by the elaborate centerpieces, the 3 sparkling chandeliers above the head table and the mirrored table numbers. After dinner and speeches the party kicked off in the great hall where guests enjoyed the photobooth and orange and gold candy buffet.
Any advice for future brides/grooms-to-be?
The day really does fly by. In an instant, all the months worth of planning comes to fruition and is over! So really, the best thing is to enjoy the day – things will happen, but just go with the flow and everything will be alright. If the bride and groom are having fun, everyone else will too.
I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. I had great people around me to make sure the day went alright (Ashley was a big part of that) and best of all, I married the love of my life. :)
