Purple & Silver Wedding by Uncontained Photography

Happy Friday! It’s been such a great week in terms of inspiration and I so hope you liked it. I have yet one more amazing wedding to share with you, sent over by Uncontained Photography . I was so flattered to hear that Ruth (the bride) was an avid reader of Wedding Obsession during her engagement. Even with her busy schedule of finishing her masters, working full-time and preparing for move to Guelph, Ontario with her husband Derek, Ruth managed to plan a beautiful wedding in just FIVE months. There’s no way I could even imagine doing that without pulling my hair out. Kudos! Oh and I must also mention that the combination of purple and grey/silver has always been my favorite color palette for a modern & urban wedding. Love!

Says Ruth, “Our wedding day was perfect (despite the pouring rain), full of fun and laughter, and we didn’t have to worry about a single detail on the actual day. It is an amazing thing to feel so surrounded by love and support as all of the people in your lives come together to celebrate with you!

A couple things you can take inspiration from:

Functional, yet beautiful ceremony decor - The ceremony aisle was easily made beautiful with the placement of potted orchids. Not only does it decorate the space, but they can be brought home to enjoy for weeks/months after.
Personalized details courtesy family & friends – Ruth’s father created the unique wedding cake (with decorations by Ruth) and one of the bridesmaids performed a song written just for Ruth & Derek for their first dance.
Bridesmaid dresses that can be worn again – The dresses were purchased at a Canadian retailer, RW&Co. Not only are they fashionable, but with many locations across Canada, sizes are usually not an issue. These pretty grey dresses are relatively affordable and the girls can always wear them again. Actually I have the same dress in blue!
