WALKING IN PORTUGAL: THE ALENTEJO COAST

Swaying pink petals against a bright blue sky. Shards of rock ruffling the incoming waves. And the sense of solitude and freedom as one boot followed the other along the sand-sprung beauty of the Alentejo coastal path.

Nearly two years have passed since I had my first taste of a walking holiday – taking the Path of the Gods along Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

Since then I’ve had surgery that left me wondering whether I’d ever be able to take on a challenge like this again.

Well, just a few weeks ago, I laced my boots up once more.

Disclosure – I travelled with Headwater Holidays on a complimentary basis for review purposes. This trip was hit by air strikes (in the industrial action kind of way, not the military sense, thankfully.)
