Papiamento. Yes, it’s the language spoken in the ABC islands, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao but most importantly it’s the name of one of the best restaurants in Aruba.

Papiamento Restaurant is a typical 19th century Aruban farmhouse that features delicious food and above-average service. On a rainy day, diners sit inside of the farmhouse where there are myriad Dutch antiques, hand-carved furniture, and antique French prints. Sit at the Queen’s Table, where the queen herself ate during a visit in 2009. If you’re with your significant other, you can opt for the Honeymoon Suite, a private dining room for two with a romantic yet old world ambiance.

If it’s nice out, opt to sit outside next to the pool. Linens, wine glasses, and perfectly laid-out silverware sparkle against the still-water background while a forest of trees and twinkling lights will add to the shine. The setting is perfect for after dark.

The menu is expansive (literally we changed our minds about 200 times) but you really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. Hint: The restaurant is renowned for their stone grilled seafood and meats, and it is a lot of fun to “cook” the food at the table.

Check out the gallery below to see a tour of the farm house as well as a photo essay of the dining experience:
