Would you be upset if a group of five young, bikini-clad beauty pageant contestants performed a Hawaiian dance on your flight?

According to news.com.au , budget Vietnamese airline, VietJet Air, is being fined for organizing the above scenario to happen without first gaining permission. The performance, which occurred on August 3, was done to celebrate their maiden flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang.

The incident is stirring up a heated debate in conservative Vietnam , as clips and videos taken on passenger’s mobile devices spread throughout the Internet. However, for those of you whose first thought is to question the safety risks imposed by the use of mobile devices in flight, Nguyen Trong Thang, chief inspector of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, explained to the newspaper Tuoi Tre that the photos were taken with mobile phones in flight-safe mode and posed no risks.
