From the Groom: The wedding had a lot of DIY projects since I wanted to incorporate our personalities as much as possible into the big day. The colors of the wedding were pink and grey, which stood for Lucy and Nick. We had these colours throughout the ceremony and reception. For the ceremony, I have always wanted a small, intimate summer outdoor wedding with a lot of sunshine and love. The venue where we had our ceremony, Pinhey’s Point, turned my vision into reality. When we first got engaged, we were so excited to celebrate that by the time we started to look for venues, most of them were already booked for the date we wanted, June 16th, 2012. But after a few nerve racking phone calls, we found Pinhey’s Point, a historic site along the Ottawa River 30 minutes outside of the city. We knew it was the one when we made our first trip there. It was everything I imagined. The reception was held at BrookStreet Hotel. We loved the modern style and the sleek look of the hotel, as well as the convenience of being able to have our guests stay just a few floors above the reception hall. The service and food were exceptional and we are still getting compliments about the venues almost 4 months after the wedding.
When I am alone at home, I look at those pictures over and over again, and enjoy every moment captured on the day. They just put a big smile on my face. Big Thanks to Micheal B Photography. Amazing people with amazing talents.
The wedding was beautiful and everything I wanted. Our guests had tons of fun on the dance floor. It was definitely the happiest day of our lives.
