Those of you who archery hunt know that heat is bad for carbon arrows. When you glue in inserts to carbon arrows you aren’t suppose to use hot glue or any other adhesive that requires heat.
The heat weakens the carbon fibers in the arrow. Apparently the same principles apply to graphite fishing rods. I learned this little lesson the hard way. About a month ago I had gone fishing and left my rods in the back of my car. For about 3 weeks those rods sat in my hot car in the sun. One of the rods, a favorite for panfish, wound up getting to hot and bowed.
