Erie-area public access on Fish and Boat Commission meeting agenda

Three items of major interest to outdoorspeople in northwestern Pennsylvania are on the agenda for the Jan. 24-25 quarterly meeting of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission:

1. A proposed grant to the Erie-Western Pennsylvania Port Authority to construct a fishing pier at Liberty Park. (page 12)

2. An easement on over 2,600 linear feet on both sides of Elk Creek as it flows across a parcel of property in Girard Township, for $45,000 from the Lake Erie Restricted Account. (page 9)

3. A $240,000 grant to Girard Borough to acquire property along Elk Creek near Girard Boroough Park. the DCNR also will fund a $240,000 acquisition grant. (page 10)

Conneaut Lake and Clarion River items also are on the agenda.
