Vancouver Rooftop Wedding from Kailey-Michelle Events + Studio Jeanie
Today’s wedding showcases how a simple, yet elegant decor and allowing the venue speak for itself creates the perfect backdrop for the detail colors of your wedding to pop off the screen. I love that the wedding couple + bridal party in grey and purple stand out among the overall pearl color scheme, exactly what the bride and groom wanted. Styled and coordinated by Kailey Michelle Events , Bridget and Jeff had a modern classic wedding held on a rooftop in Vancouver (talk about views!) followed by a pretty reception in the Pinnacle Hotel. As Kailey-Michelle describes it, “the wedding was a mix of traditional elegance with a splash of edgy persona, which perfectly reflected the couples’ big and bubbly personalities!” Photos are by Studio Jeanie .
I loved the wallpaper and decor at the Pinnacle Hotel and wanted to emphasis how beautiful the room was, instead of competing with different colors. I had chosen the pearl/ cream color from a beautiful antique pearl necklace that my 97 year old Grandmother had passed on to me, which I had wrapped around my bouquet. I had wanted a very romantic and intimate feeling wedding, which we had created with the use of all the candles. Jeff had one request during the wedding process, he had said that he didn’t want flowered centerpieces, so I made sure that we chosen something more unique but still beautiful. The bridesmaids wore a royal purple color because I love purple! And because I always wanted my bridemaids to stand out instead of blending into the background like most weddings.
The groom met the bride half-way up the aisle, to walk the remainder together. It was a nice detail, as throughout the planning process, they had the mentality that it was ‘them against the world’.
What was your favorite wedding day moment?
My favorite moment is a hard one to pick. Our first dance was a lot of fun! But the best part would have to have been once we were finished with the ceremony and before we came back out to toast our guest with champagne. Just Jeff, myself and our bridal party were in the bridal suite and Jeff and I got to have a moment to take in that we were finally and offically husband and wife. It was nice to have that personal time away from everyone, even if it was only for a few seconds.
Any advice for brides-to-be?
Hands down the best advice I can give any bride, is find yourself a wedding planner to coordinate the day. I never would have been able to fully enjoy my day if it wasn’t for Kailey. You want to have fun with your family and friends and enjoy what took a whole year to come to fruition.
