Rustic Vintage Wedding in Fernie, BC
I can’t think of a better way to end the week than to share a wedding that had the mountains as a backdrop. Captured by Nicole Ashley and planned by WE CONNECT Weddings and Events , Katie & Donnie’s wedding is just about picture perfect, with a rustic vintage theme in green and burlap. Enjoy.
This past August I had the pleasure of shooting Katie and Donnie Trainor’s wedding in British Columbia.This event was truly a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity as it was held on the property of a family friend, situated in the picturesque town of Fernie. The ceremony was held behind the family estate adjacent the small small rustic wood shed, in the lush green space, against a mountainous backdrop.
The ceremony was both simple and elegant. The groom and his groomsmen arrived handsomely clad in J.Crew, eagerly awaiting the bride, adorned in a beautiful custom dress made by Ruby Ellen Designs. The floral arrangements were delicately created by local florists – The Green Petal, and the ceremony music was very tastefully preformed by Geoffrey Code of Kimberly, BC.
Upon entering the reception it was easy to see the care and creativity of wedding planner – Lisa Grosso and her team at We Connect Weddings and Events. The atmosphere of the space was both romantic and lighthearted. The table settings, chandeliers and other details were adorned with many handcrafted and unique pieces, creating a rustic, “french countryside” atmosphere. Catered by local caterer David Miles, the meal was exquisite, only to be enhanced by the delicious cake and cupcakes provided by JJ’s Custom Cakery.
As the evening carried on, the guests were treated to the fun, energetic and authentic latin stylings of Calgary-based band – Los Morenos. Truly a perfect end to a perfect day.
