Brahmaputra river and its effect on the tribals living on its bank at Majuli the largest riverine island in the world. These poetic words spontaneously came in my thoughts while visiting above tribal hut.
Every year we build our huts
Bit higher than before
Hoping, Brahmaputra will
Spare us of her fury
She comes and engulfs
Even the ground beneath us
Every year we play this game
Every year she wins…
