Many people know Banos, Ecuador , for its many waterfalls, natural hot springs, and array of adventure activities. However, did you know the locals are obsessed with sweets? It is made from boiled raw cane syrup, and is created completely by hand.

The treat has an extremely sweet, sticky taste, kind of like honey or maple syrup, and a stretchy texture. While I enjoyed it as a desert or end to a meal, you’ll see locals eating it morning, noon, and night.
