Bold + Beautiful – Real Wedding Lauren and Mark
Lauren and Mark met in Greece while studying in college, Mark went back to his roots in deciding to study abroad in Greece and Lauren made a visit to Europe to visit a close friend who was in the same program. Lauren made the first move, making fun of a sweater that Mark had on at a party and the rest is history. After a few years of long distance dating, they ended up engaged and living in Washington, DC. To start true to the reason they met and Mark’s family, they decided to marry in a traditional Greek Ceremony at St Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral followed by dinner and dancing at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Lauren’s vision was not clear at first, but with her excellent taste and background in interior design, the wedding ended up with a vintage, bold look with a mix of blues, oranges and golds. The night ended with late night bites and cocktails at POV Lounge at the W Hotel.
Eight years, three states, two cities and one dog later, they married on May 3, 2014. They were so delighted to be surrounded by people they love, and wanted to not only celebrate their relationship together, but also their relationships with family and friends over the years. The vision for their wedding was carried out by Alex Pare and her team at Cherry Blossom Events. Together they created a romantic and cosmopolitan setting with elements of Art Deco and a little sparkle.
