Whew!
Ok, I have a little more time, and since I am trying to become a bit better about this blog thing, I thought I would take the time and write some more! I gotta say: I am pretty beat up today! I’ve been sitting at home for about a week, bored out of my mind with this mono nonsense, so I went back to school this week. I did a half day yesterday but got tired and came home and slept all afternoon….of course, I couldn’t sleep all night last night, so I refuse to let myself do that again! Worked a full day finally, and I have BIG plans to head to the gym and maybe eat some wings too….what an evening! (Right, you can totally tell I’ve been sick if that counts as an exciting night out!) Either way, I am sitting here, totally wanting to sleep but not letting myself!
So, I guess I haven’t told everyone else that I have a new job as well! Lots of changes have been happening up in Steamboat. I had originally planned to go back to the mountain and do sub teaching all winter, but when I went in for my interview at the high school, they mentioned that the middle school was looking for a sixth grade Spanish teacher, and that I should apply. Long story short, I did, and I now work full-time over there. It does mean that I won’t be going back to the mountain this year but I’m not as heartbroken as I thought I would be. You don’t make any money there, and you usually end up working about six days a week….which leaves for absolutely no ski time on your own (We went up maybe 3 times only last year on days we weren’t working!) And even more importantly, I think it is time for me to be a “big girl.” Sad, but true! I can’t really pass up a job that is salaried/benefits, you know? And now, I get to hang out with friends cause I won’t have to work nights! Amazing!
We moved into a new house about a month ago, so we now live downtown instead of up on the mountain. It is a dog pound! I have my baby, Tally, but there is also two more now: a yellow lab named Avery, and a chocolate lab terror named Deuce who is a rumply puppy who thinks–no, KNOWS—he needs to be into everything! He is so funny but sometimes I could beat him! We moved in with Ryan and Chris, a few friends from college, and so far, so good. We still have no kitchen which is getting a little bit old, but other than that, things are good.
Now if I could only get over this sick nonsense….!
