Happy New Years!
Hooray for New Years Eve! This year turned out to be a pretty good one, although it had a bit of a bumpy start! After serious car issues and should we go or not go dilemnas, Nathan, Meg, and I finally jumped in a car on Saturday and headed up to Steamboat to ring in the New Year with a bunch of Nathan’s friends. I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out considering I didn’t know any of them, but it was actually really fun. We stayed with Zeke and Matt, some of Nathan’s friends from camp, and they were both really cool guys. We hung out at Zeke’s bar for the midnight celebrations–along with some other guys and two new Argentine friends!–and then some of us headed over to the Rio for some dancing! I don’t think I ended up in bed until 5 the next morning, which is wicked late for me, but it was NYE, so it was worth it! Not to mention Steamboat is an awesome town and I want to go back soon!
So, we leave for Thailand next Wednesday, and we just heard that there were some NYE bombings in Bangkok….lovely, right? To make it even better, the entire city is now under martial law. Should make for an interesting vacation. My parents thought of changing the entire trip, but since it is so close to go time, I guess we are just going to give it a whirl and see how it ends up! Wish us luck!
