Winnipeg Opposites Attract Wedding from LouLou Weddings and Josh Dookhie Photography
A beautiful Winnipeg wedding graces the front of the blog today from planner LouLou Weddings , and you can tell a lot of thought was put into planning this wedding. Carly and Nevin wanted their wedding theme to be “opposites attract”, juxtaposing the urban downtown city views of their venue to romantic decor elements including lace and pearls. They chose Tiffany blue and coral as the main colours, based off Carly’s parents colour scheme 30 years ago of peach and baby blue. Photography is by Josh Dookhie Photography .
Says Carly: “We paid homage to my in-laws wedding by wrapping the girls’ bouquets in material from my future mother-in-law’s wedding dress (something old, something borrowed!).”
“Nevin and I saw eachother for the first time on our wedding day before the ceremony in his parents backyard gazebo- a place that we have had many memories in. We then took some portraits with our pride and joy, our french bulldog, Frankie Lou.”
“You’ll see some ‘shoe-themed’ pieces in the detail pics- our cake topper, wine charm wedding favors and print materials featured a high heel and a croc. Everyone who knows Nevin and I is aware that Nevin wore Crocs on our first date, which was horrifying to me (I’m modern girly-girl who loves fashion and all things sparkly!). However, we’re married now, so obviously he was onto something!“
Favourite Wedding Moment:
My favorite part of the day was hearing everyone say how “us” the whole day felt- and of course, seeing my future husband for the first time. I worried that I would not be able to let go of my inner ‘planner’ and worry about details throughout the day, but I was so happy that I was only focused on savoring every amazing moment!
