Shares Denise: What a day it was. We recently moved back to Canada from Australia and to tell you the truth I had little faith that the wedding would come together. We held the wedding at my inlaw’s family home that overlooks the city of Kamloops, British Columbia. Landscaping was in the works until the day before the wedding. Most brides are relaxing and getting spa treatments. My bridesmaids and I were sealing and painting the driveway… To make a long story short the DIY and work going into the wedding day was well worth it. What an amazing day! Everything just fell into place.
What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?
I guess you can say that I was inspired by the family farm. It is very rustic but yet modern on its own so I thought rather than fight our surroundings to just go with it and bring cute DIY touches wherever I could. As for colour I must admit I really lucked out. I had no idea how everything was going to come together. I knew that I wanted organic and natural soft colours with lavender being the accent colour. I am so thrilled with how everything turned out.
What was your favorite moment from your wedding day?
I would have to say my favorite moment from my wedding day was during our ceremony I looked into the field behind us just for a moment and saw the two family horses side by side in the grass. It was one of those magical moments that you can’t describe the feeling.
Advice for other brides-to-be?
My advice for any bride would be that it is impossible to have flawless planning or zero stress leading up to the wedding but when you walk down the aisle and see your husband to-be’s face looking at you it is all worth it.
