Shaw Conference Centre Wedding from Jennifer Bergman Weddings
Totally dreamy in soft muted pink and gold, today’s featured wedding by Jennifer Bergman Weddings has gotten us floating in the clouds. Held at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Jonelle and Sheldon originally wanted a vintage themed wedding, but ended up going for a more classic look with the use of vintage inspired colours. In addition to the custom stationery from Pinkpolka Wedding Design , I love how the bridesmaids all wore different dresses but each complementing each other beautifully. How did you two meet?
Sheldon’s brother dates a long time friend of mine. So in university when Facebook first began I was adding people I “knew” to my friends list. I figured I “knew” Sheldon through association (I also thought he was cute). So we began to talk online for several weeks before we moved to texting. The conversations were just so comfortable with him so we decided to plan a “blind date”. We met for supper and talked for hours. The rest as they say… is history!
Any memorable moments from your wedding day?
Honestly the entire day was memorable! But if we had to chose just a couple moments we would say getting ready with our closest friends and family, preparing to walk down the aisle. I’ll never forget the excitement I felt to be his wife. We both say that the moment we saw each other for the first time walking down the isle is something we hope to never forget. Our ceremony (and entire day for that matter) was so full of laughter. We also loved our fabulous photos that we took at Henry Singer- Sheldon’s favourite store (they had such a Mad Men feel to them). The speeches had us in stitches! We truly felt so loved and supported. One of our close friends also created a personal love story video for us that we hadn’t seen until the wedding day. It had us both crying and laughing hysterically. We loved that our dance floor was packed the entire night with all of our favourite people. We really made an effort to enjoy this part of the day with everyone!
What was your inspiration behind your overall wedding decor and colour choices?
We originally wanted a vintage feel to our wedding. We changed our vision when we notice that this had become a very popular wedding theme. We changed our vision to be more romantic and soft. We kept the vintage inspired colours (blush, ivory, gold, and taupe) because we found them very classic and chic.
Do you have any advice for other brides/grooms-to-be?
Buy a new perfume and cologne for the special day. Every time you put it on after the day will bring all the memorable moments flooding back.
Get a wedding coordinator! I cannot say enough about ours! We truly had no worries and could enjoy the day to it’s fullest! Also do your homework on photographers. Go with one that has a good reputation and that you feel comfortable around (this helps him/her capture those special moments).
