Notebook Inspired Wedding Photoshoot
Have you ever wondered what the wedding of Noah and Allie would have been, characters from the widely popular romantic film, the Notebook? A dream team of southern ontario vendors did just that, bringing together inspiration from the wedding to create a Notebook inspired photoshoot. Coordinated by Unmistakably You and captured by Vikki Christina Maria Photography , it’s filled with strong red details and soft vintage elements.
This photo shoot was inspired by how we envisioned Noah & Allie’s wedding day would look like. We chose the wedding venue Grosvenor Lodge, nestled in a neighbourhood of northwest London, as it was the perfect location to capture the familiar essence of Noah & Allie’s home in the film. The colour red was identified with Allie in great symbolism throughout the film, and for that reason we also chose it as our colour to play with! Red was highlighted in varying soft and bold ways – candy red apple favours, infused strawberry mint water at the cocktail hour, a copy of Holmes’ Tempest and Sunshine that Noah could have read Allie, a red statement chair for Allie’s bridal photos, red vintage china at the reception, and the list goes on.
The team wanted to pay homage to memorable moments in the film, and incorporate added twists for some of the DIY elements that other brides and grooms could be inspired by. The carnival where Noah & Allie first met was highlighted with candy apple favours, and table name cards placed on a homemade gold frame with light bulbs; Allie’s bicycle and Noah’s love letters and poetry were used during the first look and couples portraits; Allie’s love of birds in personal touches; Noah’s craftsmanship as seen in the wooden table numbers, the favours table, and the book shelf with desserts; the rowboat with LOVE letters as a backdrop for guests to use when taking their photos; a generations of love table with family frames; homemade pies with family recipe cards; a pocket square made from the fabric of Allie’s dress when she was proposed to, placed on the red chair with a hand-written note to Noah.
We strived to take Noah & Allie’s love story and show couples, they too, can be inspired by a film for their wedding day decor. A big thank you to our models, Alexandra and Sebastien, for sharing their playful, passionate personalities to help bring to life the characters of Noah & Allie.
