Ladies(+gents), if you’re looking for some rustic styled wedding inspiration with some modern details, you’ll love this next wedding. Faced with the challenge of transforming a small-town curling rink into a dressed-up reception venue, Bliss Wedding Design tackled it beautifully by adding in draping & loads of nature-inspired details, just as the couple wanted. I just adore the wooden block centerpieces filled with succulents and the fact that they incorporated a wagon as the display for the candy bar. Photos for this Saskatchewan wedding are by Joi Photography . Enjoy!

From Bliss Wedding Design:

In the spring, Kathy and Adam approached Bliss Wedding Design with a challenge: help turn a small-town curling rink into a classy wedding venue. As wedding planners, we love a challenge, so we dove right in.

Using their love of nature and their farming background as inspiration, we helped them to create a wedding celebration that perfectly suited them both. Kathy loves daisies, so we made sure to include them, as well as other pops of yellow for some playful colour. Adam was a very involved groom, hand-making their wooden card box, cake stand and our favourite detail, their unique rail-tie centerpiece vessel.

Kathy and Adam could not agree on a take-home favour for the longest time, until just a few weeks before the wedding, when they came across personalized John Deere lollipops that perfectly matched their scheme.

Since Kathy and Adam grew up in a farming community, we suggested they use an old truck or farm equipment to display their candy buffet, and although they loved the idea they couldn’t find one that they thought would work. As a surprise to Kathy, at the last minute, Adam decided to haul an old wagon from their property that they had used as a prop for their engagement photos, to the Allan Community Hall where they were having their reception. We used all our muscles to roll it in to display an array of candy treats. Behind the wagon was a burlap banner that read ‘love is sweet’. We couldn’t agree more.
