Cuban Inspired Wedding in Ontario
When I first received today’s photoset from Michele Bowman Photography , I thought I was looking at a destination wedding in Cuba. I was totally surprised to learn it was held in Kingsville, Ontario. Amy & Manuel celebrated Manuel’s Cuban heritage by mixing ethnic details throughout this vintage-styled wedding to create a fresh, fun and totally charming wedding. And can we say GORGEOUS about the bouquet below made by the bride herself?
The bouquet was made (by me). I used a collection of brooches and pins that belonged to my Nonna and Mother. Even the pillow we used for the rings was old. My mother made it the night before her wedding and my cousin’s used it for their wedding too! I altered it a bit and added buttons from (yet again) my Nonna’s sewing kit.
Amy & Manuel arrived at the ceremony in an old white Heintz truck. Too fun!
The ring bearer wore a hat that belonged to my Husband- Manuel – for an little cuban twist!
Manuel grew up with everything old and I have always loved everything vintage! I scoured everywhere for vintage tablecloths with turquoise flowers (to add a little Tropical feel to the party) Milk glass vases reminded me of my Nonna’s, under the sink vase collection and candles were a must. (I love the light)! The invitations were on vintage handkerchiefs to set the decor in place from the start.
What was your favourite wedding moment?
I guess it would have been when these two lovely people “kidnapped” us from our wedding for a brief glass of wine (or two).
We were having our photos taken after the ceremony and walking along this lovely pathway, when they invited us to their deck overlooking a glorious green ravine.
It was so spontaneous ! We even returned the next day with a bottle of wine from our wedding and sat with them again!
