As a makeup and hair artist in the industry, Elena has been part of many beautiful and awe-inspiring weddings. So when Jason proposed on their seventh year anniversary, her mind was immediately filled with a flurry of ideas from vintage to rustic to fully blinged-out wedding themes. She loved all things related to beauty and wanted to experience them all! However, she only plans to get married once which normally means one gown, one hairstyle, one look…right? Not in this case!

Three years ago when her sister was wedding planning, they came across a wedding album showcasing an engaged couple with the changing seasons as their backdrop. Elena has always been drawn by the allure of nature, and Jason is an outdoorsy man so this theme was very appropriate. Hence, this planted the seed which developed into four seasons pre-wedding photo sessions.

Always immersed by all things beautiful, there’s no better way to express it than to style each season by designing and harmonizing hairstyles, makeup and attire. Three of the gowns (besides the autumn gown) were designed and sewn by the bride-to-be! She also handmade the crystal hairpins and lace veil used for the autumn and spring shoot. This is what a girl does to celebrate a big milestone.

Lisa Wong of Blush Floral Designs designed and skillfully created the bouquets and boutonnieres for each season, while Jun Ying of Kunioo, an outstanding story-telling photographer along with Miya Gu, sought to capture the essence of the couple.

Jason and Elena’s relationship has been a long journey full of many treasured memories. To illustrate this, different methods of hanging photos taken throughout their seven years together were displayed in each season – stringing together memories created and memories to come as seasons go by.
